From Out Of The Depths
Recently we were watching an area we knew an alligator was doing some late evening fishing in, when suddenly it surfaced. This appearance by Mr. Gator sent the panicked fish flying out of the water in all directions…clearly the alligator was enjoying a little late night snack!
I think that I would be jumping out of the water too if I saw that coming at me!! Great photos of this action!

whoa…now there’s a scarey gator if ever I saw one…can’t say I blame the fish for jumping in fear…that last shot is a great capture!

What an incredible catch! Though you’re a lot closer to that alligator than I’d want to be — even with a very, very long lens.
I was close but he was mostly interested in fish and crabs, not me.

That looks like one very mean ‘gator, and I’d hate to be a fish in his territory, when he was feeling peckish.

Have you tried training one of those critters to catch and “give” the fish to you? Imagine serving your “alligator caught fish” at your next dinner party!
I have tried giving the alligators suggestions on what I think they should do next. Sadly, they never pay me any attention. I just don’t think they take direction very well.
But wow, fresh ‘caught by alligator’ fish would be a terrific menu description!
