Today’s Test Subjects
Today I decided to try out an old Canon 30D camera (released in 2006) to see how it would handle some of the marsh creatures that might show up. Despite me wanting something exciting, it turned out to be mostly the usual suspects. The camera ended up performing fairly well I thought, especially for a 20 year old! The bright lighting conditions likely helped with the focusing on the action shots, although right now, the alligators are not exactly bursting with activity. I also included one pic showing a great egret (entering into breeding conditions) along with his small cousins the snowy egrets. In any case, the day was relatively successful!

Thank you.

Hi Frank thanks for checking these out, appreciate you stopping by!
Well, I’m still trucking around with a Canon T6s, and loving it. Of course its fps rate is relatively slow, and so on and so forth, and I don’t have a lens for wildlife shots (although my 70-300mm does all right). But as the saying goes, the best camera is the one that you have, and since I couldn’t afford to replace mine right now, it gets babied to death!
Your T6s is perfectly fine I’m sure and will serve you well. It’s actually newer than my 7D or 7D MKII. I’m the king of old tech, my desktop is from the 1870s I think 😏. I have a newer Dell laptop but typically end up leaning on an old Chrome book. Oh well, we do the best with what we have I suppose.
