I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
“Mornin’ Fred”
“Mornin’ Al”
“Another day another fish, huh”
“You said it pal”
A great blue heron and snowy egret appear to be passing each other on their way to “work” in the salt marsh.

Fantastic Phil, I especially love the blurb you put with this fantastic shot. Amazing and well done.

Great shot! I love the action shots…it seems so common to see birds standing still heads up, but I prefer to photograph “activity” and “action” myself. This is a great “action” shot. 🙂

Glad you liked this photo and I feel the same way. I attempt to capture ‘action’ whenever possible. Sometimes the action may not be fast and wild behavior, it may simply be a normal day in the life for some of our bird friends.

Indeed! I have a blog post coming about a visit I made to one of our local nature reserves. I think I managed to capture a variety of interesting “action” shots. I look forward to your thoughts on it (hopefully I’ll be able to post it in the next couple days).
