Streamlined Flight

Yesterday was a very breezy day over at the salt marsh. If it gets too windy many birds will curtail unnecessary flying because it requires more energy then on a calm day.

You can see in this flight photo of a tricolored heron how it tucked itself into a more aerodynamic shape to cut down on wind resistance.

  1. Not only are your images beautiful, but I’m learning so much about your birds (and can’t leave out the ‘gators… though they seem to do a lot of basking in the sun).

    • I’m glad you are enjoying the photos and learning about the birds Gunta!
I have some new stuff on our reptile friends which I’ll post in the coming days. You will see them {gasp} basking in the sun. 😀
The action will heat up in the Spring and Summer though and should feature plenty of gator fun and adventures.
