I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
Well looks like I’m even boring the eagles now. This one took a look at me today and gave me a big yawn. Jeez. Guess I need to try to be more exciting…

How utterly hilarious! But you don’t bore me a bit!
Well nice to hear I don’t bore you but I’m starting to wonder about the birds and alligators. They might be sick of me. 😕 😀
Perhaps the eagle is trying to give you a subtle hint- enough already with the camera thing.
That’s what I was thinking. “Oh it’s that annoying photographer again, wish he would leave me alone.”
Maybe I’ll try sticking with the alligators for a while, I know they still love me. 🙂
I bet those alligates do love you- just waiting for you to slip in the mud or into the water and then they’d have a bit of indigestion from eating your camera as well as you… Just a thought,Phil. Sure hope you are being careful around those ugly things. I pass up your blog when you post the alligates.
I almost fell face first into the swamp last week. I don’t think the alligators would have bothered me but I would have ruined a camera and been all wet and covered with swamp muck.
I promise I won’t tell them you don’t look at their photos. They are quite sensitive and I would not want to hurt their feelings. 😛 🙂
You don’t think the alligates would not see you as food? Lord have mercy. Please- do not get too comfortable when you are at the swamp. I do not want to read that a famous wildlife photographer lost his life to an alligator!
One thing I do have going for me at this time of year is that it’s too early for them to start feeding yet. They might be a bit annoyed to find me sloshing about in their swamp but I don’t think they would come over to try to eat me. 🙂
…. Not everybody can be part of his food chain – and if you’re not lunch, you’re just part of the scenery.
Yeah that’s pretty much it. They don’t need me for anything and certainly do not find me interesting so guess I’m about as exciting as the next tree. 😕 🙂
I don’t know Phil – I think maybe he’s trying to scare you off!
It never made a sound, it was yawning and I really think it was just bored. Plus we have seen this young male around fairly frequently and he has a reputation for being lazy.
See? I can talk about him like that because I’m safely tucked away in my home now where he can’t hear me. 😛 😀
Seriously chuckled (out loud) when I got to the last picture. Too funny. Thanks for the laugh. Brilliant last shot.
Thanks very much so glad you got a laugh out of that. 🙂 I have pics of him leaving the branch and flying off but figured these were more fun and humiliating. To be yawned at by an eagle…
It was a clever short series and well done.
And re the conversation on my blog, my wretched dog just rolls his eyes at me half the time and turns to gaze at my partner. No dissimilar I think. Dismissed.
You think the dog has a bad attitude, I have two cats.
Ti sta sgridando perché non voleva farsi fotografare, ci tiene alla sua privacy 🙂
Bellissime !!!
Penso che lei ha ragione su questo 😀
Grazie Pat
I think it’s a compliment. You blend in with the surroundingns. The birds and critters are so used to you being there. Love the photos.
Yes I suppose to them I’m just another tree. Thanks Maleea!
Hahaha!! Phil that’s hilarious! He looks so contemptuous in the last shot! 😀
Well…I suppose it’s sorta funny…;-) 😀 He does have that look at the end doesn’t he?! 🙂
Wow – impressive yawn.
He is well known in the area for being particularly lazy.
Very funny Phil. I know it wasn’t you. You’re not a bit boring. Smashing captures! 🙂
Thanks Adrian, very glad you liked the photos of the ill mannered eagle. 🙂
He looks like a wise eagle. Maybe the yawn was actually a show of that big hooked beak. But you boring the eagle is much funnier.
He has some attitude I can tell you. After I give him all this screen time he barely acknowledges my existance. 😯 😀
Great moment to me. I love those photo, thank you for sharing
I’m very happy you like the photos!
Maybe if you do a little song and dance????
I guess I have to do something to make myself more interesting. 😕 😀
that is the first eagle yawn i have ever seen
Not something I see every day I can tell you that.
LOL! This is awesome ! Love the third photo. Great capture Phil.
Thanks Emily! He is a rather ill mannered eagle though and a bit rude. 😦 😀
You capture wildlife moments I’ve NEVER seen! Awesome yawn… if that can be said. Fabulous work, Phil!
Thanks much I’m glad you enjoy the photos! It was some yawn that’s for sure! 😀
Maybe you should go home occasionally. It has been said that “Familiarity breeds contempt and absence makes the heart grow fonder. ” 😀 Fantastic shots, Phil. I had never thought about birds yawning. Now I’ve just yawned whilst typing this. Maybe you ARE boring. 😆
What?!? I am boring??!! Oh no!! Too early to hit my V Day present, guess I’ll just go drown my sorrows in a bowl of ice cream. 😥
I just love the expression on the face of the top pic! Nice pics Phil, good advice from adinparadase 😆
Thanks much! I’m happy you are enjoying the eagle photos! I don’t know, I have a tough time staying away. I went back this morning and got Mr. and Mrs. Eagle sitting in their tree. They seemed OK to have me around. 🙂
Awesome shots and very funny too Phil.
Thanks Jan, glad you got a laugh out of these. 🙂
Buon fine settimana.
Un sorriso,
Luciana
Grazie per guardare queste foto 🙂
Love the yawn that is way great. PS having my coffee with you this morn.
Glad you liked these eagle photos Geri!
so great, Phil!
Thanks much glad you liked them!
Ha!
🙂 Thanks for checking out the eagle photos!
You’re welcome!
That’s hilarious ! He’s not bored, you know. He’s just trying to annoy you; jealous of your heron-photo’s, I bet.
Glad you got a laugh out of these! I believe you are right he was trying to annoy me!
Big dopey eagle. 😀
Maybe you should have brought dinner with you 😉
Now THAT he would have liked! 😀
This made me laugh out loud. Great series!
I’m very happy you got a laugh out of this one Karen, thanks! 🙂
How funny-you and the Eagle!
That eagle has a bit of an attitude. 😉 😀
