All Fluffed Up…
Snowy Egrets can often be quite entertaining to watch and photograph. They are easily excitable and will fluff themselves up whenever they get annoyed which seems to frequently be the case. In the next to last picture that snowy looks like it practically exploded…although his friends do not seem at all impressed. I think that aggravates them even more, to go through all that effort and then be ignored is not the expected and hoped for reaction!

I have a boss who’s exactly the same!

Out here, our egrets are generally solitary and I’ve never seen one all fluffed up. Possibly because there’s no one around to impress?

Here the snowys particularly often hang around in small groups. Of course they are completely unable to get along so I wonder why they stay together. 😕 🙂

That looks to me like the avian equivalent of “I’m going to huff, and I’ll puff, and I’ll….eh….just stand here and try not to feel like a fool that everyone’s ignoring me!” Hilarious photos – and so unique!

Oh it’s impressive alright! Or maybe not from the looks of the other snowys.
I was about to get fluffed up myself yesterday afternoon. I was set up on a bald eagle in a tree when some lady and her kid went into the woods under it and started yelling and banging around causing the eagle to leave prematurly.
