Beautiful Morning For A Walk
This morning an alligator came up from out of the marsh pond and walked across a paved path that separates the pond from the swamp in this area. He sure took his time and appeared quite casual as he leisurely strolled on by. But he is in no rush, it was a beautiful morning and a nap in the sun was more then likely next on his agenda!Â
Wow. So glad I’ve now seen the movie. These ‘gators are just incredible creatures from another age it seems to me.

I could have filmed the sequel this morning as I saw another come out for a slow stroll.
They do seem quite prehistoric especially when walking don’t they?!

I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I think this one is just fat, uh I mean, full figured. But in alligator world being large is a good thing.

Beautiful, but creepy (both literally and figuratively). I bet he could walk a lot faster if he had a mind to?

I like your description…beautiful and creepy, it’s true.
I have seen them run. Seriously, run.

That one looks like it has a full belly. Interesting walk, it seems to prefer at lease three legs on the ground most of the time. I hear alligators can gallop. Is that true?

It could have a full belly but in alligator world it’s always best to be as large as possible.
I have seen them run *very* fast! They can swim quite fast as well.

It was a strange feeling, watching an alligator strolling! I didn’t realise the back feet go down flat, almost with a slapping motion. Seeing the tail slowly disappear into the undergrowth was quite eerie. A great chance to see an alligator like that, Phil. Thank you!

It is an odd sight for sure, I have seen them do this many times and am still fascinated.
The tail slowly disappearing into the weeds was my favorite part. 😀
Thanks Maggie!

Cool to see him walk. I still haven’t seen one up on it’s legs actually walking somewhere.

It’s an odd sight and an odd feeling to be close to one walking like that. They appear quite confident and they should because no one is going to bother one of them.

That’s a great view. Though it would feel very strange to me if a scene like that was normal.

I have seen this many times and remain fascinated every time. This was also a surreal experience to some extent.
When he first came out from the brush on the right, he stopped and sort of layed down. I sat on the ground maybe 15 feet away and we both just looked at each other for a good ten minutes before he got up and walked. There was not a single other person around. Just me and the alligator. Odd but cool experience.

If I didn’t know any better I’d think you had put this video on slow motion. It’s so cool to see them move. Most of the time they’re just laying there.

Oh My God! I am afraid of them, really… where have you been while taking this photograph? I mean are you in safety place? What can he do, if he notices you… This is clear ı couldn’t have taken any picture of them because of my fear… makes me panic. Thank you, love, nia

I hope I did not scare you too much Nia. I was sitting on the ground very close to this guy but he was not very interested in me he just wanted to get where he was going.
Thank you very much for looking and commenting!

Great shot, but does it make you nervous being so close to alligators walking about like this? I would be scared.

I don’t really get too worried, they are mostly just interested in going from one place to another at a time like this and not interested in me. I hope… 😀
