Tonight’s Sunset: Now With 40% more Alligator
Here’s tonight’s sunset at the marsh pond, but what is that in the lower right corner? Why it’s none other then our old pal Mr. Gator! Looks like he was chomping on something too. Dinner with a sunset view, what could be better?!

Absolutely gorgeous sunset.

Oh, Phil, what a sunset! Guess it’s hitting up and your ‘gator friends are spending many more evenings dining with a view?

That’s true, occasionally however I have no choice but to include some of the scenery. This one probably could have used a tighter crop. 😉

Every sunset here should come with an alligator. They ought to make it a state law. 🙂

Beautiful shot of the sunset and the marsh pond too. I somehow had imagined that the pond was smaller and more closed in. (You shoot such wonderful close-ups of birds and alligators that I sometimes miss getting a sense of the surroundings of the places where you shoot).

Thanks Mike I’m glad you enjoyed seeing an overall view of this marsh pond area. Right across the causeway from the pond is the salt marsh where many of the birds come in close to feed. So there is a nice area for me to explore. 🙂

Sunset was OK enough, but the gator looked terrific! 😀

I believe you Phil though I would be more thrilled with the sunset 😉 I can see you are bonding with your animals.. who do you feel closer to, your birds or gators?

Good question Paula. I like both very much but I especially like the alligators when they are in any kind of action situation. Just for an example the other day I was watching a blue heron fishing in the salt marsh when I suddenly saw a large alligator come floating in over in the marsh pond which is right next to the salt marsh. After a few seconds of thought I dropped the heron and went over to see what that gator might be up to. So I guess that tells us something.

Well thanks much Emily, we frequently get very nice sunsets here and since I am often out there anyway, I sometimes shoot weather for our local ABC TV News station and they show it during the news broadcast.
