These Windy Days Can Be Tough On A Girl’s Hair!
It has been very windy here the past few days and this snowy egret was really having a tough time keeping her hair in place yesterday in the salt marsh. Of course snowys have been known to fluff up for almost any reason or occasion, it’s just part of their personality. But when you add in a stiff breeze the feathers really start flying!

You’re funny, Phil!
Thanks very much Jane, but snowball here is the star of the show!
🙂
I love the look, Phil. I might even go for it myself. 🙂 Great glamour shots!
Oh you absolutely should go for it Sylvia! I understand it’s all the rage in Paris this year! 😀
These are so cute Phil. Smashing pictures!
Thanks Adrian glad you like them!
At the third photo she looks a little bit like a plucked chicken! 😉
Yes she does. 😀
Great shots Phil. 🙂
Thanks very much Jan!
All of those dressy aigrettes in disarray…what’s a lady to do!!
It’s hard to look good on a windy day why you need to be outside. 🙂
She’s really having a bad hair day, isn’t she (making the assumption it’s a she here).
Yes she sure is! Thanks for looking!
sexist comment No1 – so here is the question
how do you know it’s a ‘burd’ (Glaswegian humour)
It’s a female because it fits with the story. 😛 🙂
Really funny pics. 🙂
I thought they were rather amusing as well!
This should be “Birdwalk”… (like catwalk 🙂 ) So beautiful, so beautiful… Thank you, love, nia
She looks like she is on a birdwalk. Thank you Nia!
What a stylish bird! 🙂
Oh yes, very stylish! 😀
I love love love these photos ! What a fashion statement she’s making. So want one for my wall. 🙂
It is quite the fashion statement isn’t ?! Thanks very much for looking and commenting Emily!
Punk egret!! Snowball is a real winner.
“Snowball in the Wind” Sounds like a good name for a novel. 🙂
Glad you liked the punked up snowy!
It looks like she is showing off her hair and letting you know she is pretty 🙂
Beautiful shots!
Amy
She certainly is letting the world know that this is me like it or not, take it or leave it.
We like it. 🙂
Thanks Amy
LOL,,, this is hilarious!!!! Great shots!
The snowys can be quite comical! Thanks!
I don’t know what it is about birds and ruffled feathers that make them look so humorous!! Great shots
It’s true, they never fail to give us a laugh when you see them like this. Thanks!
That’s awesome. I wish I could do that on command. Great captures.
I kind of perpetually look like that for the first week after a haircut. It’s fun. Thanks!
This bird is so lovely but it looks rather hacked off! Does the wind make it any more difficult for this egret to catch fish?
These snowys are often amusing and entertaining Maggie! I believe it is harder to catch fish on a windy day as the moving water likely makes the fish more difficult to see. I know the alligators do not like the wind at all. But they can be grumpy anyway so… 🙂
Awwww!! She’s really cute 🙂
Oh she is quite attractive! 😀
Excellent shots! Those plumes have always amazed me…such beauty. Poor little egret does look like it’s having one heck of a bad, erm, feather day, though. 😉
Thanks very much! Yes a rough day out in the marsh fighting the wind but what’s a girl to do?! 🙂
She’s having a bit of a bad hair day there! 😀
No way she is keeping it all in place with the stiff wind out there, but the good news is that they think it makes them appear bigger and that commands authority. 🙂
I don’t think we have snowys here… and I certainly can’t get close enough to catch their bad hair days. So I just get to enjoy every one of your wonderful shots. Thank you!
Well I greatly appreciate you checking out these photos and I’m glad I get to present a different bird with a different look. 🙂
LOVE it! Love the breeding plumes of these guys…. Just lovely. Surreal.
They do look wild with that plumage don’t they?! Thanks a bunch!
I really like that “wind-blown” look to her hairstyle. Perhaps she will start a new trend.
Cool photos of a beautiful bird!
Oh I understand that look is all the rage in Paris these days! 😀
I´m the queen of having bad hairdays and i can recognize myself with the Snowy …
One can not belive that it´s almost summer here …. The past days, i think the wind come from the arctic region!

I hope your wind warms up for you soon Maria and that is does not blow too hard on you.
