Mr. A’s New Friend
Earlier this week I saw that spoonie decided to drop in and say hello to Mr. A who was enjoying a quiet float around the salt marsh at low tide. They got along fine for a little while until finally our good buddy Mr. A had enough socializing and went off to continue exploring the marsh leaving the spoonbill alone to plan his next adventure…
Thought-provoking juxtaposition…
That’s exactly right.
Thanks for checking this out.
Thanks Deb, good observation.
Very pink, Phil. 🙂
It’s a pink-a-palooza
Always good to have friends with long teeth….
You got that right.
I’m so glad they’re friends, Phil. I’d hate to see pink feathers flying without the spoonie attached. 🙂
No that wouldn’t be good for anybody, least of all spoonface.
At least Mr. Gator floats by with a nice smile. 🙂
He’s got a lot to smile about, he’s at the top of the food chain.
How nice that Mr. A. don’t eat Spoonies! 😉
That is nice isn’t it?! 🙂
Like this shot!
Thanks very much!
Kind of looks like the end of a slight spat, Phil. 🙂
Mr. A seemed to be in a better mood and was also better behaved then our grumpy spoonbill friend.
How fantastic that you were able to shoot these two beauties together!
I had just arrived and barely had time to get the camera up to grab a few quick shots of this pair.
Like the opposing directions. Mr. A’s (my smiling buddy) eyes are focused ahead. He looks relaxed, as does spoonie.
Mr. A seemed quite happy and relaxed as opposed to spoonie that seemed to be once again wound a little too tight.
That wasn’t the grumpy spoonie by any chance, was it? They look like they’re pointedly ignoring one another.
Oh it sure was the grumpy spoonie and I think they were indeed ignoring each other. But Mr. A just didn’t feel like dealing with a pink bird with a big attitude.
Can I express like that, the beauty and the ugly 🙂 I hope Mr.Alligator doesn’t get offended…
Amazing photograph. Thank you dear Phil, love, nia
I won’t tell him you said the ugly word Nia! 😀 I’m very glad you liked this photo!
Beautiful shot Phil.
Thanks very much Jan.
They do say that there is always someone bigger, better and faster
Well in the alligator world size is everything. So the head gator in charge only holds his position until a bigger one comes along.
Love the interaction between the species! How do the birds know it’s all ok?!
