Snowys Being Snowys
As is typical…two snowy egrets can not get along and fish quietly together in the salt marsh. It’s not good enough to just chase off your friend, you have to take it to the air and continue to make your point. These guys rarely fail to put on an entertaining display!Β
Great action in-flight shots! The white really pops.
Thanks, these goofy guys are always fun to watch and photograph!
That second shot looks like he/she is contemplating a bite on the butt. What goofy characters they are indeed.
He does look like he’s about to go for a butt bite, wouldn’t be the first time for snowball.
Such squabblers – but they look so beautiful when they do! Thinking of you today, Phil, do hope all goes well.
These guys seem to spend 60% of their lives fussing with one another but they look good doing it.
Thank you for the good thoughts Maggie, I should be sleeping now but I can’t, a little nervous but I’m sure it will turn out fine.
Great action shots. Love the “hair” and the imperious look of the one giving chase.
They really do get those hair styles rocking when they get agitated (which is often)
Glad you liked the snowy action!
Fantastico, che scene bellissime hai fermato con i tuoi scatti.
Un salutone caro Phil
Ciao, Pat
Grazie per le gentili parole di Pat!
You captured the gracefulness of their dancing, Phil! They love to dance π
They love to fuss and squabble even more Amy! Thanks very much!
Beautiful shot… first time I’m seeing an aggressive egret π
These guys can really go at it! Thanks very much for checking out the snowy photos!
They look so lovely with the wind in their hair π
These guys are often quite hysterical!
π
There’d definitely be a tail bite if that were a spoonbill I bet! Those two are really focused on their territorial squabble. I love the fluffed up tufts on their heads, and the pointed, focus looks! π
Oh if it was spoonbills there would indeed be a tail bite!
Sorry I have not been able to get at your blog recently, I’ve had health issues for several weeks now and have undergone two procedures on my back just this past week. I’m hoping things improve soon. π
Please! No apologies for not reading my drivel! π Sure do hope these procedures help your back! We will be in that boat soon, though not for the back (another issue), at the end of April! It may be hard for me to keep up with my reading, too, so don’t worry if you don’t see my comments! I will be busy helping my hubbie recover. π
Best of luck to you both and please don’t worry about looking or commenting on my goofy blog, just take care of each other.
Very feisty birds indeed! What a great display of bad behaviour! π
If it involves snowys, you know there is bad behavior!
