I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
Earlier this week a roseate spoonbill arrives in the salt marsh for an afternoon visit. It’s always a treat for us when the spoonbills are around. 🙂
Marvelous, Phil. Can’t believe how vibrant they are…and the pose is priceless.
Thanks a million! I’m glad I have pictures of one coming in like this because it’s hard to tell what the wings look like until I examine the photos later.
He’s so pretty. Love the stretch of his toes and how it complements the wing positions. Beautiful! He’s very focused on the landing!
These pointy toes are indeed hysterical! They are pretty pink birds, a little goofy perhaps, but pretty. 🙂
Beautiful capture, Phil! One of the best that I have seen. Thanks very much!!
I appreciate that very much and thank you for looking and commenting!
Phil, that is an amazing picture! Perfect focus and composition, love the wing color! Excellent photo
Hey thanks Gareth, glad you like it! This was the day earlier in the week when we had 14 spoonies in the salt marsh at one time. I do have some pics that have 14 spoonies visible in the same shot. A new record for me.
Oh and of course Radar was there.
Oh, you really caught him looking so cute. 🙂
They are cute birds which is why I can’t stop myself from taking more photos of them every chance I get.
an unbelievably different shot congratulations Phil
I appreciate the kind comments Scott, thanks.
Beautiful! Love that pose.
They are cool birds and they look better on the arrival then some that’s for sure!
A dramatic entry!
That’s one of my favorite photo ops…the arrival. 🙂
What a beautiful bird, and his color is amazing!!! Great shot!!!
They are fun to watch and I never get tired of seeing a big pink bird!
Great photography inspires…This inspires.
Thank you very much Charlie, so nice of you to say that! And…glad you liked this spoonie shot!
