Bird On A Mission
Earlier this week a bald eagle was jetting across the marsh clearly with a serious purpose in mind.
The eagle was by me in an instant so I knew I was of no concern. An osprey fishing nearby may have been the intended target, but I’ll never know because the eagle was gone behind the trees in the time it took me to think about it.
What a stunner!
Thanks a bunch Cyndi! Always fun to see an eagle and I’m glad you liked the photos!
I love seeing eagles, you got a great shot! Loved them!
I always get a thrill when I see an eagle come swooping in. I also have to make sure I don’t get too excited that I blow the shots. 🙂
That fierce, intent gaze is mesmerising, Phil! One of natures really awesome creatures!
I know I would not like to be a duck and be on the receiving end of that intense look!
I never tire of seeing bald eagles…especially in flight.
I feel the same way. The only time I have a conflict is when the spoonbills are in town, but even then I default to the eagle. 🙂
Perfect title, Phil. 🙂 Just look at that determined look in his eye. Great shots.
I thought you might like the title Sylvia and thanks for the inspiration! 🙂
Glad you liked the determined eagle.
My pleasure. 🙂
🙂
Beautiful shots, the first one looks like a painting!….I see eagles around where I live but they are too far up and am not sure if they are bald eagles, never saw them that close up, great and beautiful pictures, as well as a great bird, very regal. thanks again.
Thank you so much for looking Linda! I was thrilled to see the eagle, it never fails to bring excitement! 🙂
Definitely “on a mission” – you’ve captured the intensity!
This bird looked like it had serious business to take care of. Probably involved food or territory.
Wow, sharp. Both the picture and the bird. 🙂
Thanks very much, so glad you liked seeing the eagle.
Beautiful shots.
I appreciate you looking and commenting Pat, thanks!
Such a bird I can only see in the zoo … You are so lucky to have this flying over your head. Beautiful!!!
I am always thrilled to see one of these beautiful birds living and flying free. An amazing sight. Thank you for looking!
What a magnificent creature. Beautiful.
They really are special and I have to try to remind myself not to get all excited and do something to screw up the shots when an eagle shows up. Yes, it has happened. (don’t ask me about the time I accidentally flipped the setting off M and onto B when one flew in)
B isn’t for birds in flight? No wonder it didn’t work!!
I found it out the hard way. 🙂
Majestic! Love your descripton on how fast his coming by occurred.
They can move pretty good. Sometimes I will see one coming in from a distance off and I try to move to where I think he might fly, but two wing flaps later he is gone!
