Heavy Cargo
I thought this brown pelican flying in low over the water looked like one of those huge transport planes bringing in tons of supplies.
But no, it’s just a juvie pelican going about his usual business, flying and fishing around his area of operations which is the marsh.

He’s pretty in his own way. Great lighting and I like his contrast against the texture of the water. Oh — and he sure does look like those huge cargo planes!
He does look heavy in that picture. But heavy in a good way. 🙂
Such lovely light! The Hercules of the bird world!
It’s sometimes hard for a big bird to look graceful, and with that big bill it’s even more difficult. But these guys do a good job.
