I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
Yesterday afternoon this bald eagle was spotted standing on an observation platform keeping a close watch on the marsh area.
After a short while he took off, did one looping circle around, then headed back to the nest area after confirming all was as it should be for the time being.
He really does look like a sentinel on that post, Phil. 🙂 I especially love the last pic,
I had heard rumors that he just started sitting on that post this week but didn’t see him do it until yesterday. 🙂
Let’s see … Friendly guy taking photos just like always. Check. Maybe I’ll show him my beautiful wings in great light. Check.
Well for once he listened to me. I kept telling him that the straight glide in with top lighting wasn’t doing me any good, I needed a nice angled banking view. I mean does he want to be on the blog or doesn’t he?!?
Thank you, they are nice looking birdsl
What beautiful captures. And so close there on the fence.
Sitting on that spot where a person could potentially walk up is a somewhat odd choice. They usually like to have the height advantage.
I always feel so humbled in the presence of eagles, they always amaze me. Love the action shots you captured.
I always say any day you see a bald eagle is a good day. Thanks Charlie.
As if anyone would dare!
These birds have an attitude that is unmistakable!
Thanks a bunch Pat!
