Just Layin’ Around
Yesterday afternoon this alligator took a slow stroll across the causeway and then decided he needed to rest a bit before continuing on, so he laid down right in the middle of the sidewalk.
He relaxed there for a few minutes before climbing down the rocky bank and into the water of the salt marsh.
The gator went under the water for several minutes then surfaced, gave me one look, then headed out across the marsh where I expect he planned to spend the night.
Just as long as he keeps going…
Well he kind of goes wherever he wants, but usually pays no attention to me.
I always find it amazing to see their whole, wide, lumbering bodies when they get out of the water and walk across the path in full view. They are so powerful – and so deceiving and sneaky!!
He does have a sneaky look and it never fails to amaze me to see one of these dinosaurs up walking around.
Yes. Amazing how long they’ve been on the planet, isn’t it?!
Yes it truly is and these guys are about as prehistoric as it gets. I often hear that comment about the GBH and I suppose there is some truth to that but these big guys rule as far as I’m concerned.
Nice to see that smug smile again. 🙂
Yes indeed he is excellent at having that sly, smug, sneaky smile on his face. Glad you enjoyed seeing our pal.
Scary!!!
Nah… he’s a pussycat. 😀
The big guy goes where he wants – it must be satisfying.
He’s pretty much at the top of the food chain, so yeah he gets to go wherever he wants.
Always cool to see one up and walking around.
Great captures.
Thanks very much for checking out Mr. Alligator.
great story both in words and images fantastic
I’m very happy you enjoyed these, thanks!
A last stroll before bed!
Maybe he had to work off a big dinner?!
