I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
Great Blue Herons seem to get particular enjoyment from chasing each other around.
This pair that flew across the reeds in the salt marsh this afternoon appeared to be having a great time.
The one in the back was the instigator and started the whole thing.
Super fantastic dear Phil!!
Stunning images of these beauties! Great capture, Phil!
I watched a pair do that up here in the Cascades. They’re kind of goofy that way.
Herons are so magnificent when they fly, your action shots are absolutely stunning.
Thea loved the colour of these “Beautiful little birds” as she called them! So glad she likes my favourites!
