Little Snowball’s Big Dinner
On a recent evening I was watching this little snowy egret catching dinner for himself in the salt marsh.
Normally I see snowys catch tiny fish such as minnows, but our friend Snowball here apparently had a big appetite because he snagged a good size seafood dinner this time!
It must be hard to be collectively viewed as supper by the world where you live.
It seems that the entire purpose of small fish is to be somebody else’s meal.
The fish has such a sad look in the second shot. He could easily be carrying a little sign that says, “The end is near.” Wonderful shots, Phil.
I was tempted to put in a word balloon with what we expect that fish is thinking or saying. 😀
I’m with Mike about the sad look in that poor fish’s eye. 😦
I knew you would have a slightly rough time with the sad fishy face Sylvia.
😦
He looks so pleased with himself!
I’m sure he is especially since snowys normally only catch tiny fish. A nice meal here.
