Lots Of Oysters But Nothing To Eat
A white ibis was hard at work on a recent afternoon looking for a meal among the oyster beds in the salt marsh during low tide.
He picked around all sides of the oysters but didn’t find anything worthwhile to eat.
Finally the ibis gave up the hunt and at first I thought he must be disappointed, but actually he looked fairly pleased to continue on to the next area where surely a tasty treat awaited.
He’s obviously a great believer in “If at first you don’t succeed ……”!
Many of the wading birds like these ibis do work hard out there most every day.
Makes a slightly otherworldly setting though.
I was thinking the same thing and that’s what appealed to me even as I was taking the photos.
Great pics, love oysters, he knows the right places to go!! Should hang out with him!
Fresh oysters can definitely be a tempting appetizer!
