I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
A cormorant was splashing around in the salt marsh this morning before suddenly whipping himself around and blasting off out of the water.
Reminded me of a kid playing in a pool that wants you to watch him doing something ‘exciting’. 🙂

Great shots!
Hey thanks much! Glad you enjoyed seeing the active cormorant.
He looks like he’s having fun splashing around.
He really did seem to be enjoying the water this morning. Only bad part for the poor little guy was I never saw him catch any fish.
They make me laugh, as they always seem to have a surprised look! It’s as if he can’t believe how clever he is!
I thought the same thing Maggie!
Fantastic captures, Phil. 🙂
Great take-off series, Phil, love how they run on the water!
