Tree Top Dining
This past weekend I was checking in around the salt marsh area in hopes of witnessing some wildlife activity. There wasn’t much going on and I was ready to leave when I saw an osprey circling the area overhead. I never saw the osprey hit the water, in part because my view was blocked by some trees. But all of a sudden, there he was, sitting in a dead tree with a fresh caught mullet. I didn’t see the bird catch the fish or fly in, but did manage to catch this arrival with the catch of the day firmly grasped in his talon!

Such incredible birds! I will never forget when Kevin and I were out on Loch Tay in Scotland and an osprey swooped across our heads before picking up a fish in its talons and flying off with it. Wonderful! Maggie.

Great memory for you to have Maggie. Love seeing these birds in action.

I love seeing them hunt, but I love discovering one flying over my head with its catch in its talons — face forward! (Aerodynamics: not just for aircraft!)

They are excellent flyers and expert hunters. We went to the beach yesterday to watch storm clouds coming in. I’m a cloud watcher from way back. But there were a few ospreys successfully working the surf which was fun to witness.
