  Hi Janet, sorry I didn’t see your comment earlier. Yes the Croc was quite beat beat up but eventually emerged relatively unscathed as the alligator gave up on it and let the shoe live on. 🙂

  I’m really happy you got a laugh out of these. This is one of my all time favorite photo series ever and these pics really did go viral and went all over the world. And guess what?! I *have* that Croc shoe in my possession! The alligator rather quickly spit it out that evening when I took those pics and I went back to the marsh the next day, saw that Croc shoe still floating around out there and managed to get hold of it and pull it in. It’s now a priceless artifact! 😀
