Look Who’s Back!
This past week one of our bald eagle friends returned to it’s favorite pine tree where it stood for a while surveying the marsh area for a possible meal.
I decided to wait on it in hopes of getting some flight shots if it ever saw something interesting and left the tree to investigate. When the eagle suddenly got very alert, jerked it’s head around, and did a slight crouch move, I suspected it was ready to launch and I was right. The eagle took off from the tree and did a swoop over the marsh staring intently at something below. I’m guessing this time a very lucky fish managed to quickly swim away and elude capture because the eagle took a wide turn and headed off toward the ocean.
In any case I was treated to a very nice flight demonstration by the always impressive bald eagle!

Wow!
Thank you much for looking and commenting I appreciate it!
I can’t help it! You take the most amazing bald eagle and alligator shots!
Well I certainly appreciate your kind words!
oh my God! I try to imagine instead of you and watching him with my camera… should be so exciting… Thank you dear Phil, love, nia
It is exciting Nia and we are always thrilled to see these birds. I hope you get to photograph them someday I’m sure you will enjoy it.
Thanks very much! 😀
Another big hit at Dyson Abbey today, Phil!
I’m very pleased to hear that D!
Hi Phil,
that’s an amazing series, stunning shots of a wonderful bird!!! Love the 3rd picture when it started from his tree, great captured!!!
Thank you moni, I’m glad you enjoyed the eagle!
You are the man Phil! You have that 7D singing as usual. Canon should pay you a royalty for demonstrating the capabilities of that body.
Thanks a million Ricky, I really appreciate you looking and commenting.
Funny you should mention the 7D, I know of five people that have bought one in the past month or two based on seeing my photos. Canon should be giving me a commision on the sales. 😉
Amazing, another incredible series of shots from the always impressive Phil Lanoue. It’s one thing to know where this eagle hangs out, but it’s another thing altogether to be able to get these kinds of shots (and you do so with such regularity that you can’t claim it is luck). Wow!
I truly appreciate your very kind compliments Mike! Thanks very much!
Gorgeous photos. You must have a great number of sunny days where you live. You always seem to have good light.
Thanks, I’m glad you liked these photos!
I often tell people that it’s almost always a nice day here, practically to the point of monotony. 😀
Not only the bald eagle is impressive, your shots are very impressive too Phil, excellent work
Thanks very much for your kind compliments Jan!
Always a pleasure when Baldy shows up. Amazing shots. The size of the eagle makes that flying demonstration all the more impressive doen’t it? Fabulous take off photos particularly Phil.
Thanks a bunch Adrian! I waited for a bit hoping to get that takeoff. Got a cramp in my hand and one leg but got the shots!
