I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
I probably could have reached in and grabbed it off his face, but I would rather talk someone else into doing it so I can get shots of the ensuing fun. Maybe switch over to video for that. π
Glad you liked these!
Oh, it’s because of the umm, ah, well…I figure it’s always better to just assume he is in a good mood, makes me feel better about standing in front of him π π
Thanks very much I appreciate you looking and commenting. No polarizer or any type of special filter at all, these are pretty much right out of the camera.
For a minute there I couldn’t figure out what was going on. What sort of abstract was I looking at? Then I read it was a photo from you, Phil, and looking closer saw you were almost upon Mr. A’s nose! Tremendous shot! π
Well he was in a good mood but maybe not that good of a mood. He may have misunderstood my intentions if I reached over and took off that grass and an alligator misunderstanding is not really good for anybody. π
He is just something else, Mr Gator … I wonder how he look when heΒ΄s not in the mood … π Regardless which mood he is in, i donΒ΄t think that i want to meet him as close as you did … Maria π
Impressive portraits.
I’m very happy you enjoyed seeing these, thanks.
Wonderful shots.
I appreciate you checking them out Jan and glad you like the photos.
Completely prehistoric looking, but I like the embellishment around the right eye. How very fashionable!
Oh he is very fashionable for sure and I hear that eye embellishment look is all the rage in Paris these days. π
I think he wants you to wipe that seaweed from his eye….go ahead! Great shots!

Glad you liked these!
How close were you. Long lens I hope!
He was right in front of me. I’m sure he was happy to see me. π
The clarity of your photo is uncanny!
Hey thanks! π
How can you really tell what mood he is in?! π
Oh, it’s because of the umm, ah, well…I figure it’s always better to just assume he is in a good mood, makes me feel better about standing in front of him π π
Love the golden irises!
Good plan Judy, tell him he has nice eyes. π
Fantastic shot Phil. Are you using a circular polarizer on these shots?
Thanks very much I appreciate you looking and commenting. No polarizer or any type of special filter at all, these are pretty much right out of the camera.
Impressive pics. Good for you that he was in a good mood.
Thanks and yes, I always like to catch him early if possible before he gets annoyed about anything because that’s not good for anybody. π
Up close and personal.
That’s how he likes it. π
When this photo popped up on my screen, it took a moment to understand what I was seeing. Fierce-some!
Well I really appreciate you checking them out and glad you liked the alligator photos!
Oh my that’s close! Glad he was in a good mood π
I am glad as well he was in a good mood. When the big guy is unhappy that’s no good for anybody. π
I like both shots but the second one is my choice.
I like that second one as well. π Thanks very much for commenting.

I guess I just may be getting known for taking a few alligator photos. But I can’t help it, they are just so darn cute! π
Thanks for looking!
Cute, Phil? As in Bulldogs are beautiful? Love it! π
Phil, I think you should have removed the grass from his face – it makes him look a lot less hostile. I’m sure he would not have minded.
Well he was in a good mood but maybe not that good of a mood. He may have misunderstood my intentions if I reached over and took off that grass and an alligator misunderstanding is not really good for anybody. π
I guess that’s as friendly as an alligator gets! You lucky man!
Yes Maggie, that probably is about it as far as friendly goes. But you gotta love that big smile right?! π
Yowser!!!!!!!!! You are so close to him….what a great macro shots.
It was not my intention at first to be that close but he insisted on coming over to greet me so I just went with it. π
Amazing photos Phil!!! really amazing!!!
I really appreciate you looking and commenting and so glad you liked these alligator photos!
I really love these shots.
I’m very happy to hear that thank you very much. π
Those need framing for sure! I love him!
Oh well you just gotta love the big ole guy, what a happy face! π
He is just something else, Mr Gator … I wonder how he look when heΒ΄s not in the mood … π Regardless which mood he is in, i donΒ΄t think that i want to meet him as close as you did … Maria π
I think it’s just better for me to assume he is in a great mood, much nicer for everybody. π
Thank you Maria, I appreciate your comments!
Very spooky pics, Phil. Great for Halloween season! π―
Fabulous pictures Phil. I really like these very much!
all the same, I’d prefer to watch him from afar…AWESOME shots!
