Sometimes You Get One…Somtimes You Don’t
The bald eagle wasn’t the only bird out yesterday morning plucking things out of the marsh pond…there were also several ospreys working the area as well! I saw ospreys hit the water a few times and come up empty, but in general they have a pretty good success rate.
But I guess that’s why they call it fishing and not catching, you don’t always get a fish every time you try, but you still keep going out there!
Fenomenali, che occhio hai Phil, non ti sfugge proprio nulla ed ogni foto è fantastica!!!
Ciao, Pat
Apprezzo il vostro tipo parole Pat. Grazie.
Bravo, Phil
Thanks a bunch!
Another fabulous series, Phil. I especially like the last shot – business as usual!
I appreciate it Deb, thank you. 🙂
Really like the 2nd and 3rd. The look in his eyes like “What? Nothing?” 😉 Detail is fab. Just love it.
Thanks a million for checking these out and so glad you liked them!
Gorgeous shots, Phil! We have ospreys here, but getting a good look at one is a rare occurrence. So I really appreciate seeing this detail.
Well I’m very happy you enjoyed seeing the osprey Laurie! I have been fortunate lately in that the ospreys have been more numerous and fishing in closer which gets me nice views.
Amazing!!!!!!!!
Hey thanks!! 🙂
Hey YW !
Lovely images. It looks like a mere moral for that big bird though.
Glad you liked the photos and yes I’m betting it takes more then a few of those fish to fill up a big bird like that.
Wow! Beauties, Phil.
Thank you Jane, I’m happy you liked them!
You did it again Phil, beautiful action shots.
Well I really appreciate that Jan, thank you.
Another magnificent series Phil!
Thanks much for the kind words Adrian I appreciate it!
You really captured the beauty and power of the osprey.
Glad you enjoyed seeing the osprey. I have several photos upcoming with nice splashes but no fish. Why can’t they catch a fish when I’m right there?!? 😦
Hit or miss….but I think more hits. More hits by you too, Phil. Fine images.
I appreciate that very much Steve, thanks!
That’s perseverance for you, Phil! Such beautiful pictures of a glorious bird – clever you!
Thank you Maggie, I’m very happy you enjoyed seeing these amazing birds!
Well, at least he did get a fish, and you certainly got some fabulous pics, Phil. 🙂
Yes he did get a fish, a small fish, but every little bit counts and each fish the osprey gets to keep is a victory!
Great actions series, Phil! Amazing capture!
Thanks very much Amy and I’m thrilled you enjoyed these!
Utterly marvelous shots and no damned eagle stealing his catch!
Thanks and yes, no thieving eagle…this time. 🙂
Awesome shots!
Last weekend I had a great experience taking photos of a White-tailed eagle catching fish.
(I was standing in a moving boat)
Thank you Hans!
I’m sure that was an amazing experience, and tough to get shots from a moving boat I’m betting. 🙂
I agree with Patrizia .. and that second shot now there is a face I don’t see every day 😀
Oh it’s a face alright! Thank you very much Paula!
I love the bird’s face in the second photo – he looks shocked? Embarrassed? Upset? Determined? I can’t quite put my finger on it. But stunning shots!
He looks all those all those things for sure. Glad you enjoyed seeing our wild and crazy birds!
