Angry Eagle
This afternoon a rogue bald eagle entered the marsh area sending our resident eagle pair into a huge frenzy. The male eagle (seen here) took off from his tree screeching like crazy and ran off the intruder. I never knew eagles could make sounds like I heard from this one as he blasted across the sky in full chase mode.

He was really hacked off and proceeded to let not just the other eagle but the entire marsh area know about it.

No joke, I had someone come by soon after and ask me what all the bird racket was about. They heard it from quite a ways off. I guess he got his message across too because I didn’t see the offending eagle after that.
That is very nice to hear. I am glad they have a protector that watches over the area. Awesome things I am learning!

Wow. That’s the fierce protector and defender that we all respect and admire (and not the fish thief that you feature from time to time). Wonderful action shot.
There were ospreys fishing in the area at the time. I wonder what would have happened if one caught a fish just as this guy was flying around? Would the eagle give up the chase to go try to grab the fish? Maybe… 🙂

Great photo of the bird in flight. That takes great skill and patience. You should to a tutorial post on how you get those shots. Maybe you have and I need to look around on your site.
