I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
I liked the way his face looked. Sort of sinister in a way. Which of course he is but don’t tell him I said that.
It’s bad enough already I tease the alligators.
Thank you Amy I’m happy you enjoyed this eagle photo!
Actually we see them around here more in winter then any other time. I think they leave for someplace colder when it heats up here.
The lighting is gorgeous!
Thanks a bunch Tricia, I appreciate it!
You couldn’t have wished for better and more unique lighting. Wonderful!

Gorgeous and you’re right the light is fantastic on him
I’m glad you agree about the light Sophie and that you enjoyed this eagle photo!
I agree with you on the lighting, lovely shot!
Happy to hear you enjoyed the look of this particular lighting as well, thanks!
Your photos are just incredible, Phil! Just beautiful.
Very nice of you to say that thanks very much!
I just love your eagles soaring…
It’s always a good day when an eagle soars in close. 🙂
Incredible lighting, Phil, and love that clear blue sky. Do you ever take a bad photo? 😀
Thank you very much Sylvia!
All the credit goes to the birds, I’m just there to hopefully capture some of it. 🙂
Amazing capture, Phil! Takes my breath away… Don’t they go south for warmer weather?
Thank you Amy I’m happy you enjoyed this eagle photo!

Eagle and good light is a lethal combination.
Sometimes things work out when the bird comes in close enough at a time when the light is favorable. The trick for me is to be there when it happens.
Reblogged this on skyhawk551.
Thanks much for the re-blog!
“And he will raise you up on eagles wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn.
Make you to shine like the sun
And hold you in the palm of his hand.”
Kitt, that was beautiful! It brought tears to my eyes.
It’s one of my favorite songs. You should hear a good choir or Josh Groban sing it. So moving.
I just played it, now you really have made me cry! Thank you, Kitt!
Aww. *Hugs*
Very inspiring song and it’s really great that you thought of my eagle photo to go along with it.
Thanks so much! 🙂
Thank you for taking such inspiring photos.
What a beautiful photo and lightning.
I appreciate that Jan thank you.
A glorious picture, Phil – you are such a clever man! Kitt Crescendo put it perfectly, didn’t she?!
Well I let the wildlife do all the work Maggie I just hope to be able to capture some of it. 🙂
That is a fantastic song for sure!
