“This Should Be Easy!”
Or… maybe not.
A tricolored heron plucked a small eel out of the muck in the marsh pond and thought he had himself a nice tidy little snack. The eel however had other ideas and wrapped itself around the heron’s bill turning what initially looked like a quick easy meal into a big problem…

Oops. Mr. Heron’s eyes tell me he wasn’t planning on that. I hope it released, and he was able to have his snack! I like the colors, and that vegetation. Nice and complimentary!

He eventually did drop the eel which got to live another day. 🙂

The eel got away and presumably lived to swim another day. I got no pics of that though because I was distracted by an incoming bomber (GBH) 🙂

Well the Tri did drop the eel which got away. I have no pics of that action because I was distracted by a GBH flying in.

The little eel was lucky this time as it worked itself free which is not usually the case. Nine times out of ten the eel gets swallowed.

What an elegant eater 🙂 Terrific details, Phil. How are you?

That Tri did his best to make eel eating look casual, but the crafty eel was smart and got away!
I’m hanging in but guess what the latest bad news is… My Nexus 7 tablet died yesterday. I just can’t catch a break in 2014, it has just been an awful year. 😦

This is hilarious, Phil. The eel was no fool. He knew that if he could keep the beak closed, he was in with a sporting chance. 🙂 What was the outcome?

That eel was no fool indeed AND he got away! The Tri will have to work harder next time.

Oh it always make dinner so much more unpleasant if it moves around on you and tries to tie you up or get away. 😉
