I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
As the sun begins to set, this great blue heron surveys the marsh one last time before heading off for his night roost…
Wowwww fantastico, uno scatto incredibilmente bello!!!
Grazie Mille Pat!
Superb photo, Phil! Nice light on the eye!
Thanks much Gareth I appreciate it!
lovin the light on this 🙂
Glad you liked it! 🙂
Phil how do you keep the salt out of your camera? I love this picture!
I think my camera is like the alligators here, they both have become quite acclimated to salt water. 😀
Thanks much for checking this out Andy!
You have captured the light so beautifully in this shot of one of my favourites, Phil!
Thank you Maggie, the blue heron is always a favorite of mine too!
Really beautiful, like a model in studio.
He was posing like it was a studio shot. Such a smart boy!
Beautiful light, Phil!
Thanks a million Gracie!
Love the light on this guy👍👍
I’m very happy you liked this shot, thanks a bunch!
This one took my breath away. You’ve outdone yourself yet again! Bravo.
Oh wow I greatly appreciate that Gunta, thank you!
So glad you enjoyed the heron shot Adrian!
Stunning shot, Phil. He looks very pensive. 🙂
He looks like he might still be hungry. 🙂 Just one more fish would top off the evening nicely.
Gorgeous light Phil!
I appreciate you checking it out and glad you liked it!
Saved the best light for last. Awesome.
I think the heron knew what he was doing, positioning himself to get the best light on his handsome face. He is not as vain as the alligators, but close.
All of your work is amazing. I never miss checking it out but this Blue Heron Portrait is absolutely gorgeous.
Well I truly appreciate your very kind comments and I’m very happy you enjoy the photos!
No words. Beautiful and stunning don’t cover the feeling I have. And those long head feathers…..
This heron knew exactly how to make the most of the lighting to highlight his handsome features. 🙂
wonderful eye detail Phil
Thanks for checking it out Scott.
