I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
We don’t really get anything close to northern autumn leaf colors here at the beach, everything stays pretty much the same year round.
But when the warm setting sunlight hits some of the brush along the edge of the marsh just right, it almost looks like golden fall foliage. 🙂
Fabulous – love the yellow lighting on this gator and the marvelous reflection in the water!
Thanks, he is a cutie! 🙂
Gorgeous! Such a beautiful glow to it all.
It’s always my favorite time of day when the low setting sun gives us that golden glow.
Gorgeous colors! And look who’s there, looking really fall-like in that lighting….
That evening setting sunlight really is rather flattering to our friend here isn’t it?! He needs a pumpkin though. 🙂
Great shot. Here we get the colors but no Gators, not sure who has the better deal(:
That is a tough one. When I used to live up north we also had the fall colors but no fun gators. 🙂
Lovely fall foliage, Phil! We won’t even mention the ‘elephant in the room’, or should I say ‘the gator in the swamp’? 🙂
Hey you’re right Sylvia, there is an alligator in there! And here I was trying to just get a nice fall scene but you know who has to get his face in there every time. 😉 He is some piece of work that boy. 🙂
Beautiful light and reflections.
Thank you Pat, this evening light is my favorite.
That photo is reminiscent to me of the crocodile scene from Peter Pan, though I’m well aware it’s a gator. 🙂
I appreciate you looking and commenting and I’m glad you liked this fall scene.
That photograph is stunning, Phil. Mr. Gator seems more striking than usual in the evening light! 🙂
He does look attractive in that lighting! Thanks. 🙂
Stunning shot, Phil!
Glad you enjoyed seeing our gator friend in fall evening light!
The lighting is incredible! This is such a perfect example of what Lucy calls “framing”, Phil!
He floated up into that location because he knew it would ‘frame’ him nicely. 🙂 Thanks for looking Maggie.
What a composition! Spectacular, Phil.
Thanks very much, so glad you liked seeing this scene!
Ha! I almost though he was a big leaf! Pretty image and it really screams Fall with that lighting.
He is hoping the birds make the same error. 🙂
He is so cute!!!! great shot!!!!
Close enough I’d say. 🙂
Could have fooled me – looks like fall leaves to me. Wonderful.
