Two Pelicans

We had quite a few brown pelicans fishing in the marsh this afternoon.

Here is an adult doing a hopping lift off, then about five minutes later this juvenile came flying in. Although they are called ‘brown pelicans’ only the young ones are truly brown. As adults they get a white and yellow head and brighter colored wing feathers.

They are a lot of fun to watch as they splash and dive their way back and forth along the water’s edge.

  I’m trying to hang in with the new camera. It was crazy out there today, we had a couple of feeding frenzys. At one point I counted ten different species all flying and diving at once. The eagles spent the whole time sitting in their tree and never joined in the fun unfortunately.

Great shots, that new camera is really great, what kind of camera is it??? It captures everything with such clarity and holds each image of everything with precise and beautiful color. By the way, its really the photographer not the camera that has it…..and the beautiful nature scenes that you take, are awesome.
