As The Sun Sets…
As both the day and the sun begin to wind down, a brown pelican is silhouetted by late afternoon light as it fishes in the marsh pond.
I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.

Beautiful Shot, his wings look transparent, great photography and photographer!! Thanks Phil

I live in California, and I love to stand on the shore and watch the pelicans glide and dive. Beautiful photo, as always.

We often have groups of these guys flying along the beach here, sometimes over the water, and sometimes over the beach. Thanks!

Forgot to tell you – when I said the other day that the birds were feeding heavily and I thought bad weather was coming – we have had fierce gales for the past two day!

I don’t know how they do it but they ‘know’. Better then us watching the weather reports on telly. 🙂
