Slow Day
Not a whole lot going on around the marsh this afternoon.
At the water’s edge we had an anhinga giving me a look. Also, an alligator laying down in the soft grass giving me ‘the’ look.
At one point a white pelican did a brief circle overhead about a mile up. I hoped the pelican would land in the marsh pond, but no luck.
So that’s about it for today. 🙂
Un tutto veramente stupendo!!!
Saluti, Patrizia
Grazie Pat! 😀
Great shots.
Thanks very much.
That alligator shot reminds me of that Disney movie about the princess and the frog for some reason. Great shots.
I’ll have to look into that movie. 🙂 Thanks for checking these out.
I love that look. It makes the whole post. The gator smiling is pretty special too.
That anhinga had a kind of surprised look and the gator always has a special look all their own. 🙂
Fantastic images Phil but the first image just puts a smile on my face.
Thanks Edith! That anhinga has a lot of personality.
Love the green eye makeup! Don’t you just love it when alligators smile. 🙂 Great shot of the pelican. I’m sure you’re exaggerating about it being a mile up. 😕
That anhinga may have gone overboard on the makeup just a bit. 🙂 Sly alligator as always.
I kept exhorting that pelican to come in closer but did he listen to me?! He did not. (Wasn’t actually a mile up but higher then I wanted and the bird didn’t care, some nerve)
😆
You should have tried the “Do you know who I am?” line on the pelican. 🙂
Oh I talk to them all the time. You might think they would take direction better and maaaabey be a little more respectful, but oh no. Apparently my getting photos is not at the top of their concern list. Imagine that!
Shock….Horror! 😯
Indeed!
Love those green eyes and what a look! And the gator looks really smug about something… More great shots, Phil!
Those sneaky gators always look like they are plotting something! 🙂
Love the expressions! From the “Uh oh” look on the Anhinga, to the gator’s (misleading) sleepy smile, to the hercules of the skies – all such personalities in their own right!
That alligator had a look on his face as if he had big plans that only he knows about and it’s going to stay that way until everybody finds out. 😮 Thanks Maggie!
Did you give them “the look” back? I’d like to see a picture of that too.
I’ve tried that with the alligators but they are generally impressed by very little. Big dummies. (don’t tell him I said that)
I won’t
