I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
This past weekend I was watching an anhinga fishing in the marsh pond area.
This guy was quite talented, I saw him catch a few fish, toss them up and make a few nice follow up catches.
This bird could play center field for the NY Yankees!
Great captures. He is indeed very talented.
Thanks much. Yes this bird sure has the technique perfected.
Amazing pictures! I’m glad I don’t have to swallow my food whole.
I’m with you on that!
Incredible capture as always – doesn’t that fish look unhappy!
That fish is having a very bad day.
Great Shots!!! The close-ups and action are amazing. Thanks Phil
Thanks so much Linda glad you liked these!
What an athlete! Wonderful camera work.
Yeah this guy is a real pro with skillful technique. 🙂
Too funny! That fish must have been wishing he could move a little to the left.
Less than an inch gets him freedom but not this time!
The fish will see all the way down.
Not a good view either.
We could have done with him in the England cricket team!
He could start for any team!
Nice little game of pitch and catch, Phil. I wonder how he would do at one of the salmon ladders. 🙂
Nice catch of your own.
I would love to see one of these birds with a really huge fish, that would be something.
They should make a movie about Anhingas like they did with Alligator, jaws and Anaconda.
they could have a giant Anhinga walking around swallowing people, imagine having that beak coming at you.
Great idea! I would pay to see that movie!
Oh the look of a fish before it gets consumed whole!
That fish was having a very bad day, but it will be over soon.
