“Where Did You Come From?”
When this egret suddenly popped up right in front of me from the edge of the marsh and surprised me, I think we were both asking the same question!
I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.

Another amazing shot.

Although I sometimes tend to overlook the egrets, they are pretty birds.

Love the colouring on his face!

The green ‘lores’ around his eyes indicate breeding condition. Their feathers get fluffier too. 🙂

Don’t you hate it when you have too much glass? Nice save on the blast off, Phil.

I often have that problem due to how close much of the wildlife can be and although I have a 70-200 zoom I mostly use a straight prime so I get what I get. This one as you surmised is a full frame of what I got, no cropping here. 🙂
Normally I don’t like to clip wings but felt it worked ok enough here.

It’s hard to fly with clipped wings. It most definitely does work here. 🙂
