Fluff And Fly
Earlier this weekend we were watching a tricolored heron fishing in the salt marsh.
Once he decided he was done and it was time to move on, he gave himself a good fluff up and then quickly left the scene.
I really like these colorful active little herons!

They look quite a bit like the Great Blue when flying. I suppose the size is quite different.
Yeah in flight they do look a lot like the regular GBH, but probably about half the size or less. Fun little guys though.
How I love these beautiful little birds and the first shot in particular is just gorgeous!

I absolutely love the “fluffy” first shot. It makes the little heron seen to have so much more size, an illusion that is dispensed with in the second shot, which is equally impressive, given the small size of this heron.
He’s a nice little Heron.
