I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
A tricolored heron does same fancy footwork earlier this week as he hunts for some tasty seafood snacks in the salt marsh during low tide.
Superb shot, Phil. Love the reflection too. 🙂
Thanks a bunch Sylvia, glad you liked seeing the Tri!
That is one big, dirty foot spraying mud. Looks like he likes it that way.
It’s funny and true! That is one big muddy foot there and he appears quite pleased about the whole situation.
Love the reflection in this shot! My word, don’t the tricoloured herons have big feet!
Considering they are not really huge birds at all, they sure do have some BIG feet! 🙂
Great capture. Love the reflections of the legs – it makes an unusual shape
Thanks much I’m glad you liked our big footed Tri!
Looks like it’s practicing for a later performance.
I hope he gets a big crowd for the evening show! 🙂
I love this shot AND what you write about it— very poetic!
I appreciate that very much thank you for looking and commenting!
He’s definitely beady-eyed as he’s scanning. Love that high step. Nice reflection, too.
This cool little dude sure has it goin’ on! 🙂
