Quiet For Once
This evening I was surprised to see this great blue heron take off and fly across the salt marsh without making a sound.
No major announcement of his arrival or departure, no loud in flight squawking, just simply a nice calm quiet flight.
Unusual for this typical loudmouth who generally seems to feel compelled to let the whole world know of his activities.
Sometimes they might surprise you.
Great photo.
They can be funny and odd birds. Thanks much for looking!
Supersonic GBH! Looks like he could break the sound barrier. 😜 Great shot, Phil.
Hey was moving pretty good! Thanks very much Sylvia! ☺
Maybe he’d had a busy day and just felt there was no-one about that he needed to impress.
They almost always have somebody (in their heads) they feel they need to impress. Don’t know about this guy. 🙂
Lucky capture then. Love it.
He surprised me a bit, thanks for looking.
That does seem odd :). He looks like a streamlined bullet whizzing past.
I took a few shots of this fly by. In one he was really tucked in and looked like a real missile. 🙂
