Unwanted Attention
A great blue heron plucked out a nice size fish for himself at the marsh yesterday morning and that attracted the attention of several wood storks.
The storks were really hoping the heron would drop his fish, and were doing their best to make that happen, but big blue managed to keep and eat his prize!
I live how you capture the drama at the park!
” How the Tern Turns” !
Well there is plenty of turnin’ and burnin’ out there once the storks get all riled up! Thanks for checking this out! 🙂
The fish is almost as big as he is. Great capture
The other thing that stood out for me was that a great blue heron is a large bird but it looks much smaller than the storks. This whole event went on for a while, I may post a series of this later this week.
Oh oh the storks look like they’re ganging up on him.
Ha! They were! Those storks wanted the heron’s fish badly.
Those guys look like they were definitely interested in his catch. So glad he got to keep it!
I really didn’t think he would end up being able to keep that fish. It was quite widely shaped which gives the herons problems, but he stuck with it despite so many who wanted to take it from him. Good job done by the tenacious GBH!
