I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
An egret heads across the marsh this evening just above the water, which was warmed by setting sunlight.
I love to see the egrets fly; I always find it so amazing…Loved your action shot.
We had several out last night, mostly flying south toward the trees of the swamp where they likely roost.
Glad you liked this egret shot.
There is something so lovely about the way that egrets are geared to fly – the way the neck is drawn in, the streamlining of the legs – like a dart. These sunset flights you capture are endlessly beautiful, Phil!
Thanks very much Maggie! Occasionally we get an egret or blue heron fly with it’s neck outstretched which is funny to see.
Beautiful image, Phil. 🙂
Thanks a bunch Sylvia!
Lovely light – great shot
Thanks for checking this out and glad you enjoyed the egret flight.
