An egret heads across the marsh this evening just above the water, which was warmed by setting sunlight.

  We had several out last night, mostly flying south toward the trees of the swamp where they likely roost.

There is something so lovely about the way that egrets are geared to fly – the way the neck is drawn in, the streamlining of the legs – like a dart. These sunset flights you capture are endlessly beautiful, Phil!
