Summer Arrivals
Well the wood storks have finally been showing up at the marsh in the past couple of weeks. They seem to arrive in small groups or even sometimes as singles.
This past weekend we had an early morning meeting which quickly broke up as they flew off and went about their business for the day.

Meravigliose!!

Thanks very much Sylvia. I’ve been a bit out of commission for a while now so everything involving photography and blogging has really slowed down.

We have them in the winter! They didn’t have a good nesting season here this year (SW Florida), we had torrential rains in January and it disturbed their ability to rely on lower water levels to feed.

Things have been out of whack around here and up into North Carolina for a while now. We could have 150-200 wood storks here now but only have some. Plus, if this was a couple years ago we would have spoonbills here by now but who knows? Many the same situation with nesting down by you.
