Surprise Pop Up

This afternoon we were pleasantly surprised when a cute little mink popped his head up along side the salt marsh.

He was very active scurrying around the rocks and oyster beds and at one point snatched a fish from one of his hiding spots and took off to stash it in a new secret location where the fish will be available for later dining.

Always a fun treat when the mink puts in a personal appearance!

  1. Ha ha! Nice capture. Those little devils are not well-liked out here – they’re chicken killers. But, I cannot deny they are cute and quite industrious little critters. I wonder if this is a youngster? It doesn’t have any battle scars and looks to be in great health.

  2. My children are were having a gorgeous day on Huntington Beach and made it down to the start of the jetty rocks. We noticed this little guy swimming and following us and have never seen one (we are over from the Clemson area). I had to search around the internet to figure out what this little guy was and the kids and I are loving your shots.
