December Flights
In keeping with the tradition I started several months ago, I’m again posting flight shots for the month that had not been previously posted. And prior to today, these photos have never seen the light of day anywhere.
Here are a few various bird flights taken in December!
Wow ! Simply beautiful !
You can create wall papers and postcards with them !
Congratulations , Phil.

So glad you like these flight photos utham! Thank you!
Awesome, simply awesome shots.
Thanks for the kind words! 🙂
Great tradition. I like them all.
I appreciate you checking them out, and glad you like ’em!
Just incredible Phil. I haven’t seen wildlife photography to match this.
I greatly appreciate your very kind comments Adrian!
We are thrilled and awestruck when we see these elegant flyers doing what they do so well. We are also awestruck (and envious) when we see the results of what YOU do so well. Thank you, Phil
So nice of you to view and comment on my photos, I truly appreciate your kind words. 🙂
Cooper’s Hawk has some very nice designer duds. He is beautiful. Great shots. 🙂
He is a snappy dude! Thanks a bunch and glad you like the pics!
Auch im neuen Jahr weiter so herrliche Fotos.
HAPPY NEW YEAR ♥
Ich bin sehr froh, dass du wie auf den Fotos
Glückliches neues Jahr 😎 😀
Majestic.
I appreciate it Conor.
AWESOME, Phil! It must take you hours to capture… Thank you!
Yes I do spend a little time out there but I enjoy viewing nature so it’s all fun! Thanks for looking and glad you like the photos!
Stupendous photos, Phil. It’s hard to pick a favourite, but that Great Egret is amazing. It has a sort of cartoony feel about it. 😆
That great egret is a wacky guy no question about it. 🙂 Thanks for the kind words Sylvia!
What a way to end the year! These are all very good. The Snowy and Great Egret photos are my favorites.
Thanks a bunch Molly! I just wanted to clear out some misc. December flight pics so I’m glad you liked them!
These are amazing, Phil. 🙂
Thank you Robin, I appreciate you looking!
Stunning Phil!!! Absolutely fantastic photographs!
Thanks very much lsd! I’m very happy that you enjoyed the flight pics!
Phil, your work is spectacular – that’s all there is to say, really. From the tension and torque in the wing-tip feathers of the American White Pelican, to the water-skimming technique of the GBH, I was hooked. But then came the Great Egret, loudly announcing its triumphant arrival. The shot made me laugh, and tear up, a little – at the wonder that is there, in nature, and the privilege it is to see these birds through your lens. It seems to me that shot is a portrait, and also the magnificent landing shot of the Snowy Egret, looking to left (and right) before landing. They’re images that will remain in my mind.
Enough of that! Happy New Year again 🙂
I can not express how pleased I am to read your very kind words. I so value the time you clearly take to view each photo and how you take sincere meaning from them. This is tremendously appreciated!
With much thanks and best wishes for a healthy happy New Year!
The images are not only beautiful but also very instructive in identifying the differences in flight of these birds. I scrolled back and forth for the different colors of the feet and beaks of the egrets. Relative size not as much help in flight. Your images are far better than any I’ve seen in any of my bird books. Very impressive work, Phil.
Thank you very much Gunta, I truly appreciate your very kind words and I’m thrilled you are enjoying my bird and wildlife photos. Thanks for your continued support and interest!
Happy New Year!
Phil
What superb photos Phil, what wonderful prints they would make. The hawk reminds me of a print I have in my Spanish dining room, except the one I have is sitting so far easier to capture/sketch. It’s not just the beauty of your photos though, the beauty of the birds and their flight comes out on every single one.
I can’t pick out a favourite, because they are all wonderful (I’ll run out of superlatives soon) but I have to say the white ibis remind me of some of the low fast ‘planes we sometimes see flying over Gibraltar!
(just realised I’m not following you, so I’ll put that right).
Thank you very much for looking and commenting on these flight shots. I’m so happy you have been enjoying them. I also greatly appreciate your kind comments.
And hey thanks for the Follow!
Happy New Year
Awesome shots Phil, wonderful nature images.
Hey thanks Jan, I appreciate you looking and glad you like them.
Happy New Year
What a fantastic December bird collection you gathered here Phil. You are so fortunate to be able to enjoy so many water birds. And the Coopers Hawk photo? Amazing, you can really get a good look at what one looks like. We’re always trying to figure out if it’s a cooper or a sharpie.
Hope you’re having a wonderful New Years!
Thanks a million Emily! I’m really glad you enjoyed the BIF pics, and happy to hear you especially liked the Coopers!
Hope you are enjoying your New Years Eve, we are having a good time here! 😀
Snore…real exciting here. I’m working on tomorrows post. 🙂 Hope to shoot some birds tomorrow. I chased away the Hoodies from a pond and they still haven’t come back. 😦
Ha ha well hoodies are sure like that. Those guys can be so skittish.
Hope you got some cool bird pics!
Wonderful shots here Phil! That set would be a great YEAR for many photographers! Happy New Year!
