He…Or She…Has Got The Right Idea
This weekend it’s sunny but cold here along the South Carolina coast. Last weekend however, when I took this photo, it was sunny and warm! So naturally our good pal Mr. Alligator was out taking advantage of the pleasant weather by finding a nice comfy spot in the swamp to relax in and soak up some sun.
Although I say “Mr.” Alligator, we are speculating that this could in fact be a dainty female. This individual has a smaller head then we would generally expect from a gator with such a long tail. So it may possibly be the exceptionally alluring *Miss* Alligator out there sunbathing!
In any case it sure is a nice, and smart way to spend a morning!

Nothing like a bit of nude sunbathing when no-one is watching. Oh wait…….the Paparazzi, aka Phil the ‘Gator Man, was there to capture the moment. 😀
I however was not nude during any portion of the picture taking event. There are way too many thorn bushes around the edges of the marsh for that type of behavior. 😛 😀

It is a good size tail that’s for sure! I can now pick this one out from the group due to the small head/big tail combo. 😀

I’ve never before thought of an alligator as pretty, but this one does seem to be nicely proportioned and not at all battle-scarred. It’s amazing to see the variety of textures, too. Very nice photo!

We do strongly suspect it might be a little lady due to the smallish head but stylishly long tail. 😀

Oh he’s plenty happy alright.
He was not sleeping, just sort relaxing and dozing in the sun. Alligators are very good at conserving energy.
(which means doing nothing) 🙂

Have to agree with you that this one has a feminine look to it. I don’t suppose we’ll know for sure unless you get a lot more up close and personal?
