Nice Day For A Swim
Peering through the reeds at the edge of the swamp earlier this week, who should I see gliding by in the water but our old pal Mr. A!
Yes he was out taking advantage of the unseasonably warm temps we had here along the coast of South Carolina while much of the United States was suffering with a deep freeze.
After cruising over briefly to say hello, my alligator friend turned and glided away… no doubt on his way to finding a nice comfy spot to nap and soak up a little December sunshine.

He isn’t even making a ripple….lake is calm as ever. Very sneaky☺

Oh he is plenty sneaky all right, he is a well known sneak in fact. 🙂
Thanks very much for looking and commenting!

Oh how polite of him to come and say hi 🙂

Oh he is very polite. A little bit of a sneak at times, but still quite well mannered for the most part. 🙂

Suppose he came over to say “Merry Christmas”?

Maybe he did, but he was likely disappointed when I failed to deliver his Christmas turkey. Oh well, there is still time.

E bravo Mister A che passa per un salutino 🙂

I envy Mr. A. He knows what will make him happy and how to go find it! 🙂

Sometimes I think he is the only one around here that really knows what he is doing. 🙂

What a sneaky gator! The water looks so still, he must have just been floating. Once again, I’m thinking Mr. A is cute…

He was basically just floating, ya know to conserve energy which he is very good at. Sound like anyone else we know?!?

Hmm…Yes!!

Thought so!

He looks very relaxed. His eyes are not doing that sharp pointed focus thing. Quite the silent mover, as well. 🙂

He did seem to be quite relaxed which would be bad news for the ducks if was Spring feeding season. 😯 🙂

You seem to be on very friendly terms with Mr A, Phil. Maybe you can ask him what plans he has for Christmas. He’s been very good this year, so I’m sure Santa will bring him something. 🙂

Oh he will probably get a sweater again for Christmas this year. Like he needs another one of those. 😕

Glad he said hi. What did you say?

He said don’t get me a stupid scarf again for Christmas this year.
I know the pelicans won’t be chipping in on a gift for him, not after his behavior in the pond last Spring. 😯

Can you actually tell this guy apart from others, or is he the only Mr A in the swamp? So nice of him to give you another chance to brag on your great weather. At least we finally made it into the 40s for the first time in weeks tonight, bringing some much needed and way overdue rain with the warmth.

There are several but at this time of year I can spot an old familiar face.
T shirt weather here again today. 😛

The one I would prefer not to recognize me is the mom of the babies. I really think she remembers seeing me and is none too thrilled about it. I saw her back in the reeds behind her babies this morning but she never came out which was just as well. 🙂

These are great! Looks like he is just swimming around so you can get the shots. 🙂

He was quite cooperative, he made sure I got some shots before heading off for the day. 🙂

He is camouflaged in the reflection of the water. Those guys creep me out a little, but they are really cool.

He does a nice job of keeping a low profile out there Jeff.
They are pretty cool though, it’s the closest thing we have to a living dinosaur.

He must be jealous of the little one getting all the press time. Though he needed his cameo I bet.

Yes indeed I spent a lot of time on the youngsters and he must feel left out.
I saw mom and a few babies this morning but they all stayed tucked back in the reeds mostly out of sight.

Nice shots of Mr Cool. I like the water reflections 🙂 How’s knitting coming along? 😉

He is Mr. Cool out here for sure.
He specifically indicated he DID NOT want another sweater or scarf for Christmas this year.
Can’t say I really blame him. 🙂
