Nice Day For Sitting…And Flying
It was a beautiful warm sunny day today along the South Carolina coast, and our friend the bald eagle was out taking advantage of the Spring like weather.
I spotted him relaxing in a pine tree along side the salt marsh and I’m not sure which of us was enjoying being out in the sunshine more! Soon however, he jumped off and flew across the marsh and I watched as he soared off to his next destination…

Such an awesome bird, Phil! Beautiful pictures! Great to hear you were out, with the sun on your back!

I couldn’t take it anymore Maggie, I had to get out there.
My back was killing me but I didn’t care.

Great set, Phil, Glad you could get out! Many times I have similar feelings–just have to be outside. Sighted the first returning Ospreys yesterday. Was like welcoming old friends back- their long trip complete. Take care!! .

Well I really appreciate you checking these out and I’m happy you enjoyed them.
With today turning out so nice I really did have to be out there. Plus I got to see some alligators and walk on the beach a bit. Things could be worse. 🙂
Good news you saw ospreys!

I had a good day and the eagle seemed to be having a good day. Nice when things work out. Of course I always want the alligators to have a good day. It’s better for everyone that way.

They are great looking birds and always a treat to see.
We have several in the area and a mated pair that seem to stay close and I often see one or both of those.
I have also seen four adult eagles in separate trees on either side of the marsh at one time and that does not make the mated pair happy when an intruder shows up.
Last year I could tell which was the male because he still had a few dark spots on his head but not this year. I would have to see them side by side to tell as the female is larger.
