Having A Good Time
It was a beautiful afternoon today and there was some bird activity over at the salt marsh. We saw several egrets, great blue herons, white ibis, terns, and two bald eagles soaring high overhead. But this brown pelican in particular seemed to be really having a good time enjoying the warm sunshine and getting in a little fishing!

He does seem a happy sort. You are lucky to have such a great assortment of birds to enjoy, Phil.

I wouldn’t like to have a double chin like this one, but it can come in handy :D. No offence attended Mr Pelican, you are quite photogenic 😉

Some of the alligators really have a huge double chin but I generally refrain from making fun of them over it.
Pelicans are fun Paula!

Oh my goodness, Phil! I’ve never seen a pelican smile before. Fantastic close-ups. I think I can see his tonsils in the third shot. 😀

If this guy tells fish stories to his friends I can prove he is embellishing, because all he ever plucked out were mouthfuls of tiny minnows and shrimp. Glad you liked the pelican pics.

The pelican almost looks as if he’s laughing. Which means I’m laughing right along with him, of course!

It’s actually OK even to laugh *at* the pelicans, it’s the alligators we don’t want to laugh at too much. They are very sensitive and we never want any hurt feelings out there.

I am taking your advice on laughing ‘with’ the alligators!
