Foggy Day At The Marsh
The fog rolled in thick off the ocean this afternoon and quickly shrouded the marsh pond in a misty haze. The fog didn’t stop our alligator buddy from parking himself along the edge of the pond and hoping the sun would pop back out.
The first three pictures I took with a cell phone camera, but I used the telephoto for the close up shot of our unhappy friend who never got to enjoy any sunshine today.
In the second picture you can barely see that there is another alligator laying on a small piece of land out in the pond.
Its seems to be grinning. Great portrait.
I think he is happy to see me. 🙂 Thanks a million for looking Victor!
Not a particularly joyous look!
Second cloudy day in a row does not make this boy happy at all!
E dalla nebbia è spuntato lui, con un bel sorriso per te 🙂
Ciao, Pat
Di solito gli piace una bella giornata di sole. Ma oggi gli piaceva la nebbia. 🙂
Foggy day here, too, Phil. You got some nice shots.
This was a cold, wet fog too coming right off the water. Sometimes it does help to have the little cell phone cam along. 🙂
Nice mood and a great portrait.
Thanks Jan, glad you liked these.
It was nice to see both perspectives of the gator. He’s definitely got his eye on you.
He was giving me *that* look. The one where I get the feeling he is not in a pleasant mood and that’s not good for anybody.
Great serie! Your aligatorphotos are always interesting to study closer!
….and adds an extra tuch to a photo!
Sorry, I’m not awake yet! I wanted to write: …”and fog adds an extra tuch to a photo”…..
I got you Hans!
Thanks very much for commenting and I’m happy to know you enjoyed seeing the foggy alligator!
Oh dear, I’ve never seen Mr A looking quite so glum. 😦
He was promised a sunny day by the weatherman and instead got cold wet fog. This puts him in a bad mood which is no good for anybody.
Not a good day for digesting a big meal!!
He likely has not eaten anything recently, he is waiting for a nice warm day to relax in the sun and digest a tasty meal. 🙂
I love foggy days and at the marsh it has so much atmosphere. The gator glows in the water in your photo. I bet they like the fog too, they just seem an animal that would. Nice photos are always, Phil.
I’ll tell you what is eerie though… We have been out in the swamp on a foggy morning and heard an alligator bellowing somewhere off in the mist. Then another one answers that. Then another. We heard six at one time very close and all around us but couldn’t see a single one.
I love getting outdoors on a good foggy day. Mr. Alligator is such a poser… one never knows what he’s thinking!
He was most likely thinking… Where is my sun?!? He is a good poser though.
Erm, Mr. A does *not* look thrilled by this weather/fog. That is really close, and glad he didn’t decide to do a super fast army crawl to wherever you were standing! They could almost be chameleons, I think. Can’t believe how “gray” he looks on the bank in that 3rd shot.
Oh he is most definitely not at all thrilled with the grey foggy weather, he was hoping for a hot sunny day.
That third overall shot was just taken with a cell phone so you kind of get what you get there.
The close up was more how he really appears in terms of color.
The marsh looks quite spooky in the fog! I love the “blue” look about the alligator!
Here is something even more spooky Maggie. We have been out in the swamp on a foggy morning and heard an alligator bellowing somewhere off in the mist. Then another one answers that. Then another. We heard six at one time very close and all around us but couldn’t see a single one. 😮
He will be very happy moving forward though, it’s going to be warm and sunny all week.
I hate fog too. Terrific portrait, Phil 🙂
It was a wet fog too so not very pleasant at all Paula.
Glad you liked the alligator shot. 🙂
Very atmospheric!
