I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
What a cool pic of a ‘glowing’ alligator! If that were me, I’d be sure to eat every evening at sundown so the sun could perfectly reflect of my scaly skin. Fabulous shot!
His fishing technique is solid gold for sure. While the other big dummies try to catch an occasional fish in the pond, this guy goes straight for the landlocked pool in the salt marsh where his meal is a sure thing!
Not sure if a really smart alligator is a good thing or not. 🙂
Fantastico, sembra uscire da un bagno dorato!!!
Che scatto, wowwww
Ciao, Pat
Thanks very much Pat, glad you enjoyed this photo!
Superb light Phil!
Thanks Adrian, I appreciate it!
Whowhh, wie ein Feuerdrache 🙂
Thank you for looking and glad you liked the alligator!
Wonderful light Phil!
Thank you for looking and commenting Lucy!

Isn’t it amazing what the proper lighting will do for scaly skin?! We should all have such a pretty hide!
What big teeth you have! What fabulous light to show them off! What a nice action pose! This guy’s a natural.
This guy put on another shot Monday night too. He is a real crowd pleaser for sure! I’m glad he picks sunset to get active too.
This one makes me think of Jaws somehow… wouldn’t want to get too close.
He prefers to dine alone anyway and would be happier if nobody got too close. 🙂
Know the feeling…. 😀
Excellent shot Phil
I’m happy you liked it Callie!
as all your work Phil, Im happy to be back where the internet works
I love working with light… most excellent my friend! You captured the perfect sunset action shot!
Well I let the sun and the alligator do all the work, I just stand there and try to grab a few quick shots. 🙂
That gator was blinded by the light…but I doubt any conversion was made. Nice shot, Phil.
Lucky for the birds in the area he did not convert from seafood to chicken on this evening. 🙂
He likes the golden hour. It gives him a nice skin tone. Lol. 🙂
Oh absolutely! He does his best work at this time of evening because he knows how good he looks! 🙂
Wonderful shot! So amazing and awesome!
I’m happy you enjoyed this alligator shot!
Incredible capture, Phil!!
Thanks very much for looking Amy!
Wonderful shot!
Hey! I’m glad you liked it!
I love your sunset pictures, Phil! I swear that gator is really smiling!
He should be smiling Maggie, he caught so many fish I’m sure he is nicely full!
Glad you liked this one!
I love the sunset on him! He’s happy, and is smiling big time!
Oh he is very happy! He caught a ton of fish and a full belly always makes our boy a happy boy!
Stunning capture, Phil. He looks like solid gold. 🙂

The jury’s still out on that one, Phil. 🙂
Yes it is. 🙂
Wow! That was some great timing Phil!!
Thanks a bunch for checking it out!
