Saturday Night Sunset Cruise
An alligator feeding in the salt marsh this past weekend lunges up out of the water after some fish. The happy gator is lit by warm setting sunlight.
I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.

What a cool pic of a ‘glowing’ alligator! If that were me, I’d be sure to eat every evening at sundown so the sun could perfectly reflect of my scaly skin. Fabulous shot!

Isn’t it amazing what the proper lighting will do for scaly skin?! We should all have such a pretty hide!

This guy put on another shot Monday night too. He is a real crowd pleaser for sure! I’m glad he picks sunset to get active too.

This one makes me think of Jaws somehow… wouldn’t want to get too close.

He prefers to dine alone anyway and would be happier if nobody got too close. 🙂

Well I let the sun and the alligator do all the work, I just stand there and try to grab a few quick shots. 🙂

That gator was blinded by the light…but I doubt any conversion was made. Nice shot, Phil.

Lucky for the birds in the area he did not convert from seafood to chicken on this evening. 🙂

Stunning capture, Phil. He looks like solid gold. 🙂

His fishing technique is solid gold for sure. While the other big dummies try to catch an occasional fish in the pond, this guy goes straight for the landlocked pool in the salt marsh where his meal is a sure thing!
Not sure if a really smart alligator is a good thing or not. 🙂
